The Museo Torino, opened on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the Italian Unity, is an innovative museum, both “virtual and real” at the same time and quite unique in Italy and over Europe, originally created to collect, preserve and promote the awareness of the cultural heritage of the city.

Its collection consists of the city itself: a living body, constantly evolving and including its past and the prerequisites for its future. It is in fact, a sort of expanded museum including all the significant sites safeguarding the city historical heritage. Visit the Museo Torino at the site: www.museotorino.it . This is a virtual world created to preserve the heritage and to find information on the real city, designed according to a cutting-edge technology and using last-generation tools; the website has been organized as a museum where to find any information on the city areas, their history, past inhabitants and events occurred, where to visit the whole city following an itinerary laid down either in terms of geographical coordinates or events. Both the private companies and public bodies members of the Consulta enthusiastically took part to such an innovative project, specifically as to the multimedia exhibition within the Sala del Voltone of Palazzo Madama.
